This morning I proceeded from the stairwell leading from the parking garage. As I approached the door to Knickerbockers I smelled a foul scent in the air. I assumed some bum or otherwise was sleeping close to where I was walking or something like that.
When I got to the door I noticed a package of bay shrimp from Safeway, half eaten as I inspected the package I discovered the source of the foul stench. I figure these must have been pretty old for them to smell like that because it was about 30 degrees outside so they should have stayed cold and good if they were not already rotten when placed outside.
Curiosity got the best of me, I sampled one. Not bad. I mean, I’ve eaten worse. Alright, I’m kidding. I did not sample one, no way — no how. However, the puzzling question is why is a half eaten package of Bay Shrimp doing outside a cigar shop? A bums dinner? A feast for the fowl that circle the area? It’s just odd. I would have been less surprised to see a half eaten burger or salad, but a half eaten package of shrimp is just weird to me. The moral of this story is well, their is no moral. I guess just don’t leave your half eaten packages in front of the shop, take them back to the hobo encampment and share with your friends.
