Sunday I was cleaning the shop and the wheels were turning as usual because I let my iPOD battery die. You know what I really don’t like? Myspace! I think that “Tom” had an interesting concept when he created it, however people were too free to customize it, hack the code of it, and run amuck. It’s like anything that’s ever been created in history where man is allowed to roam freely and make changes to the structure of it. In this case a social networking site which was aimed at prepubescent adolescents but disguised to give adults the idea they should come on it as well, I’m guilty of buying into the preconceived notion that Myspace is a place for “friends’ just as they suggested.
Myspace is a place for creeps, stalkers, sociopaths, and pedophiles. It’s not a place for friends. It’s a place to score late night sex, cyber stalk your co-workers or whatever other debauchery your mind can cook up. The worse thing about Myspace is the fact that it was aimed at Children – even though they said it was not actually designed for that. That may read as contradictory to my previous statement in the above paragraph, but rest assured it was aimed at Children and overrun by social and sexual deviants. Did you know a couple of years ago a mother disguised herself as a teenage boy and through the course of several sick and twisted events forced a young teenager with a whole life ahead of her to kill herself? Myspace should be ashamed of themselves, her blood is on their hands. Now granted the mother is a piece of shit, and should die in the gallows (if we still used them) an equally huge issue is Myspace empowered her to do this. If you don’t give a man a hammer and nails, he can’t build a house. I’d like to think if she did not have Myspace as her tool that this girl might still be alive.
I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking that I feel the same way about Myspace as I do gun control. I feel that guns should be kept away from individuals found unable to handle the responsibility with the use of firearms. Guns were created for killing things be it people or animals, they’re a weapon of destruction. However a social networking site was not created to do harm and look what has been done with it. People have taken it and twisted it into something it was never intended to be, a Monster of sorts. Me owning and using a firearm is not the same as “Al” the rapist owning and using a firearm.
If their had been more structure in the final product and less ability to deviate from the original “plan” I have a feeling that it would have worked out better in the long run and perhaps other social networking sites would have never been created. I understand that people should be allowed to express themselves and while Myspace is a good tool for some, it’s a weapon of disaster for others and I think that it should never have been created because people obviously cannot handle the responsibility of conducting themselves in an orderly manor when exposed to it. What is the point of this post you’re likely asking? Aside from the fact that I had some thoughts and felt like sharing them; nothing. That’s the joy of blogging my friends.

Okay yes I see your side. But you can score hookers and blow on places like Craigslist too. And whats going to keep the same thing from happening on Facebook as well. If it hasn’t yet I’m sure it will eventually. I don’t think one is any better than the other in that regards. I think any social networking site can and will attract pervs and predators unfortunately. Doesn’t make it right but until these sites take a more appropriate and strict measures to keep them off I think it’s will never stop. I think parents also need to monitor better what their kids are doing on the Internet. Who they are chatting with, and what sites their children are spending time on. I think what that woman did was just awful and hope she gets whats coming to her. People like that are just a waste of space. Hope she spends the rest of her ugly pathetic life in misery. Anyways that’s my thought on it. Don’t hate me!
