We just finished watching Kevin Smiths latest film while having dinner, Zack and Miri Make a Porno. Let me start out by saying that I had not heard much about this so I was not sure if it would be worth watching. I should have known better really as I’ve loved all the movies I’ve seen with Seth Rogen except Pineapple Express, which I thought was ass.
Let me assure you Zack and Miri Make a Porno is NO Pineapple Express. The story was funny, inventive, and fast paced. In short Zack and Miri are long time room mates and after attending their 10 year high school reunion and meeting an old class mates boyfriend who stars in gay porn, Zack gets the idea that he and Miri should film a porno and use the money to pay their back electrical and water bills which are currently turned off due to not being paid.
Everyone’s favorite old school porn star Traci Lords is in this with a host of other funny characters including Brian O’Hallaran and Jason Mewes. I have to say that Jason Mewes stole the show with his character Lester. He was the crude and perverted scrawny sex fiend everyone knows as Jay (from Jay and Silent Bob) but this time he was not outside a fast food joint or a convenience store. He was making a porno. The movie is non stop laughs from start to finish with some really raunchy and hilarious one liners. This movie was a blast, you owe yourself the laugh. Don’t miss this one, it’s an instant classic!
I though the move was pretty good. I was very disappointed that we didn’t get to see Miri naked.
