I have been thinking a lot lately about the future and where I want to see it go. I’m certain of a few things and uncertain of several things. One of my biggest uncertainties is in regards to my current employment at the cigar shops. I am a cigar enthusiast and I like working for Bill, however I’ve gotten to the point where I am overly bored with the job. I get zero stimulation from it, I come in before my shift and vacuum, dust, windex, stock, and then do my inventory sheet and then I sit here for 8 more hours and play on my laptop. I help customers as they come in, but 9/10 they don’t want/need help and they just get their stuff and leave.
I think once I get in school again it might change, I might appreciate the extra time for doing school work and stuff, however right now I am bored as hell most of the time and it’s not like I can create work such as marketing, advertisements, make orders, I don’t have that kind of responsibility around here. I really need to open my own business, my own cigar shop. I know plenty about cigars and accessories — I just need to know about how to run a business successfully, that’s where college comes in.
I also need to REALLY decide if that’s what I want to do with my life. I’ve always wanted to be a Law Enforcement officer and with my training and discipline from the Military I’m a “shoe in” however I have this fucked up knee that nobody has correctly fixed. If I can get that fixed from the VA then maybe I can go live my dream as a Police Officer and open my shop as a side project so by the time I’m ready to retire from “The Force” I can go work in my shop.
I’m just ready for school to start so I can begin moving forward, rather than sitting at a stand still. The monotony is too much, but change is just over the horizon!
Also, if any of you readers can offer some tips or words of advice — I welcome them via the comments section.
Don’t put off summer school. Start now or you’ll be bored another 3 months.
