“If you’re listening to this, you’re the Resistance” those are the words that have stuck out the most to me in Mc G’s newest offering and 4th film in the Terminator saga. This one is different from the others is it takes place 98% in the future, post apocalypse or post Judgement Day.
The Resistance is strong and so is their fight to destroy SkyNet, a network of Terminators created by Cyberdine Systems with the help of Miles Dyson, you may remember him from part II. The robots are operating on their own and killing and capturing humans. SkyNet is stronger than ever and it’s up to the De Facto leader of the Resistance John Conner (Christian Bale) to stop them with the help of Marcus, but something is different about Marcus. Is he a Man or a Terminator himself?
I thought this was a pretty good action flick. The special effects were cool and I thought the story was pretty good as well, their are quite a few interesting aspects to the plot that I don’t discuss because I don’t like to give spoilers. The SFX were amazing as always in a Terminator flick and they even dedicated it to Stan Winston, which was a great thing to see. Christian Bale was a top notch actor in this as usual and everything worked together pretty well. I know this movie caught a lot of bad press from critics and fans a like, I don’t know why as it was a hell of a lot better than Terminator 3. Go see it in the theater or wait for DVD, it does not matter to me – but don’t miss it, it’s a lot of fun.
