I am not much of a morning coffee and cigar guy like a lot of my friends and customers, however today is different. I am sitting outback on the patio with an iced latte from Starbucks and an Arturo Fuente Hemingway Signature. The two compliment each other well and I needed some time to collect my thoughts – so it worked out well!
I’m out here because my mind is racing and I needed an avenue to express what is on my mind and I find blogging to be a good course of constructive expression. Today is my English placement exam for college, this will determine which English class I am placed in when the semester starts next month. I’m super stoked to be going to school, and while I’m not really worried about the test, I still am to a degree. It’s been a long time since I’ve been in school — though I have no doubt I will place high on the English exam, I’m still a person who worries about this stuff.
I am also concerned about rehabilitation of my knee and losing all of this excess weigh I’ve put on since my injury in 07. I’ve never been skinny before, but I’ve never been anywhere near as fat as I am right now and I’m not happy with it. Last night we went and checked out a gym around the corner and are going to join as soon as they call us back with out orientation type appointment. I’m looking forward to getting back to the gym and while I won’t be able to run, I can hopefully push myself on the stationary bike and elliptical trainer. The weight won’t come off over night, but I am determined to make it come off which will require more than a few trips to the gym, it will require lifestyle changes. Oh, and I will have to cut back on beer. 
My buddy Sean Cain is a b-movie director in Los Angeles known for his works, Naked Beneath the Water and Silent Night, Zombie Night. Sean and I have been friends for over 10 years and he is working on a new film called Breath of Hate and starring none other than the infamous, Jason Mewes of Clerks fame. I received this e-mail from him yesterday:

Hope all is well. So, I’m starting a new film in August called “Breath of Hate” starring Jason Mewes (“Clerks 2″, “Zack & Miri Make a Porno”) and on Monday August 10th we’re filming in a strip club. We’ll need some patrons and all that so if you’re available let me know. Filming will take place during the day.

It’s not exactly a starring role, but it would be a lot of fun. The only problem, it’s on a Monday. I work on Tuesday, so I would need to head down Monday morning and back Monday night, that sucks ass. I will try and figure some stuff out, but it looks like I won’t be able to make it. I’m hoping I have another opportunity to be a part of one of Sean’s movies.
Another plan in the works is a trip to Hawaii around Christmas or the first part of the year. We have never been to Hawaii and are all looking forward to it. I feel however that planning the trip has become more of a headache for Danielle than she initially thought. We own a time share and figured that would make things easier. It really doesn’t, especially because we want to spend time there not on the big island, our preference is Kona. We are working on finding reasonable flights and right now are looking at about $2,500 for all the flights to Kona. It should get sorted out soon and will be a great trip, right now it’s a headache but it will pay off.
That’s really enough rambling, I’m going to finish my cigar and coffee and figure out what Patrick wants to do today, I think he wants to go to Guitar Showcase and play with the instruments. I’m not against that, I can play some other basses and see what my potential next bass will be when I get [much] better. Annyong kashipshio!
P.S. I found out who was rating my blogs a 1 star, it was my step Mom’s nephew. That fucking dickwad!
