Remembering John Hughes

John Hughes 01I just heard the news that Writer, Director, and Producer John Hughes passed away today after suffering a heart attack.  It’s a sad day for American Cinema as Hughes was responsible for some of the most memorable films specifically from the 80’s.  Films such as Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, National Lampoons Vacation, etc.

Some of my favorites from him were of course, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, as well as Weird Science, and Home Alone.  He was awfully young to die, especially in this day-in-age when a lot of people are living well into their 80’s.  I’m glad we were graced with his genius in 80’s film and he leaves behind a great legacy.  Rest in Peace, Mr. Hughes.

You can find his complete filmography here.

“His name is Blane? Oh! That’s a major appliance, that’s not a name!”
