I am still here; school, work, and lodge have really taken a lot of my time.
I am working on a research paper for English on the History of Freemasonry in the United States. I have been busy reading and researching the topic and am nowhere near where I want to be as far as research is concerned.
Last weekend a Masonic weekend was held in Columbia, CA. We stayed at a pretty nice hotel. It had a good-sized pool area and spa. On Friday night I drank too much wine and had a few too many cigars. When I woke up in the morning my headed was throbbing and I felt like crap.
I went to breakfast with some lodge brothers and ended up with chicken fried steak that was mostly fried chicken batter and not so much steak. After that we got dressed and headed to Columbia Masonic Lodge. It was the first lodge in CA to be made a HISTORIC landmark! We went there for the purpose of me being raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason. Max was unable to attend the degree like we thought due to a family emergency. It’s fine though, family comes first and the degree went off without a hitch.
After that we headed back and got changed for happy hour and then dinner. We had a catered dinner and I had Prime Rib, it was awesome! After that Oscar and I decided to go back to our room and change, we got changed into swim trunks, grabbed a couple Mojitos and headed to the pool. A bunch of us sat in the hot tub drinking Mojitos from a huge water cooler, lol. It was a lot of fun. Sunday I packed up and headed home to see my family and do homework.
I am also working on the new lodge website with Oscar, using a CMS that I am not as familiar with as I am WordPress, but it’s working out well. I will share the site when we are finished.
Well that’s all that has really been going on with me. I will try to blog more often as time allows.
