My first job as a kid
I was listening to Bill and Marla this morning on the way to work and the topic was people’s first job. People were talking about being janitors in restaurants, working at movie theaters, being a gardener, etc.
My first job was a bus boy at Lyon’s Restaurant; I think I was about 15. I used to walk down there after school and work from about 4 until 8. It sucked, I worked with this Mexican named Raul who spoke 0 English and he trained me, you can image how much “fun” I had during that training. My job was to clean up dishes, wash them, etc. I also had to clean the bathroom, one time it looked like someone bent over, spread their ass cheeks and had explosive diarrhea all over the toilet and wall. I let Raul clean that up.
I got to thinking about what job as a Teenager I always wanted but never did it. I always wanted to work at a movie theater. I am a huge movie buff and I always wanted to work at a theater because I’d get to see movies for free and I had friends who worked at a theater and they would get to watch free movies and have free popcorn. Often times they would show the employees upcoming movies weeks before release after the theater closed. That would have been awesome.
I guess it’s not too late to work at a theater and get to see movies; however that’s not the career path I am looking to pursue.

Fringe Season One
We just finished watching the entire first season of Fringe. Fringe is the brainchild of J.J. Abrams (creator of Star Trek (2009) and Lost). Fringe brings together a motley crew of character, which works perfectly together. You have Special Agent Olivia Dunham, a very gung ho and smart Special Agent with a knack for always wanting to solve the case no matter the consequences. You have Dr. Walter Bishop a mad scientist of sorts who spent many years as a Professor at Harvard while doing secret government experiments.
Walter was later institutionalized after his lab assistance was killed in an accident. Peter Bishop (son of Dr. Bishop) is a character with a mysterious past, Peter is Walter’s caretaker while he is away from the asylum, Peter has also proven to be highly intelligent and an asset to the team. There are several other notable characters, but this gives you a general idea of what to expect from characters.
Fringe is a special division within the F.B.I. who has the duty of exploring and solving strange cases, which other agencies cannot. It’s Walter’s experience in dealing with special government testing that makes him particularly important, because he is familiar with many of the strange occurrences. Some of these occurrences are people catching on fire, a plane mysteriously crashing, and a super creature in the sewer killing people. I think of Fringe a lot like the X-Files but with some of the cases not as outlandish and ridiculous as the X-Files. Now granted, Fringe has its fair share of weird shit, X-Files without question takes the cake for weird stuff. This has become one of my favorite shows and is currently on Season 2 on Fox. If this sounds like something you would like, please tune in as it will help with ratings and make Fox renew it for a second season.
Friday Fender Bender
Well today started out like any other day. Patrick got yelled at for being rude to his Mom, I had some cheerios and then I headed to work. I rounded the turn on Hillsdale Ave to get on Almaden Expressway and shortly after I stopped my car was shook quite hard.
Yeah, someone hit me. I sat there for a second and then pulled off to the side and turned on my emergency flashers. I got out of the car, popped my trunk and pulled out my shotgun – I blew away the driver away and sped off.
Wait. That’s not quite what happened, but it sure made the story sound better right? So she jumped out of the car and said she was so sorry and that this was a bad day and it just got worse. Her car was much more damaged than mine; the impact smashed her bumper into her wheel well.
Everyone kept asking me if I went crazy and yelled at her and cussed at her. My Mom got all pissed off about it and was cussing about “that stupid fucking bitch”. Why would I get mad at her? She didn’t hit me on purpose. In fact I was far from mad that I didn’t even feel an adrenaline rush from the event like I usually would feel.
I called the insurance company and have already been called back by her insurance. I hope it gets handled as painless as possible. The photos are below:
Take me out to the Ball Game
Baseball season is fast approaching (w00t) and I could not be more excited. Bengie is sticking around (thanks to a 1 yr 4.5 mil contract) and we acquired a few new players this season. Giants need to get their game faces on and work their asses off, the fans want them in the playoffs (at the least). The first game of the season we are attending is on 4/10 against the Braves, before the game they’re going to present Timmy with his Cy Young award for best pitcher in the NL. I look forward to being there for that LEGENDARY event.
Let’s not forget about the upcoming Giants Fan Fest a free event put on by KNBR on 2/6 at AT&T park. There will be autographs, tours of the clubhouse, on field time, etc. It’s going to be a great event. So far I’m going solo because Danielle is having a baby shower for my sister, but I am sure one of my buddies will end up going with me.
Someone made a joke to me a few days ago “Didn’t baseball just end WTF???”
Haha yeah it just ended, but that’s fine with me. Bring on America’s favorite past time!

Crazy Weather
Wow, talk about a crazy few days of weather. The rain will just NOT stop. When I got up this morning the water was flooding the walkway up to my house and the tan bark in my yard was washing onto the driveway under my car. We defiantly need rain but this is getting to be a bit ridiculous, the rain is just pouring and pouring. I usually stop at Safeway before work and get a sandwich for lunch, but it was raining so hard that I did not even stop.
I better see if I have any Popsicle sticks and glue so I can begin framing out my ark. I’ll also need some animals if anyone has any surplus livestock, I would be very grateful. So far I just have a Dog and a Cat, scratch that – the cat can stay. I just have a dog. I’m accepting any animal donations besides cats.
Anyway, I’m going to try and stay dry and those of you in the area, do the same!
